Ph Consulate General in Chongqing attends the First Shapingba-ASEAN Fair for Investment and Trade
Chongqing, 19 November 2024 – The Philippine Consulate General in Chongqing, represented by Consul General Ivan Frank Olea, attends the First Shapingba-ASEAN Fair for Investment and Trade.
The Shapingba district in Chongqing with its 62 freight train routes is a major logistics hub and center of international freight trains in China’s Western region, serving as a terminal for the China-Europe railway. It is also home to 16 universities, making it China’s largest university town.
Shapingba officials toured representatives from the Consulates General of the Philippines, Cambodia, and Myanmar and chambers of commerce in Chongqing to the SERES Automotive Phoenix Plant, and demonstration sites for the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.
Consul General Olea continues to explore ways to reduce logistics costs of Philippine goods bound for Chongqing and Western China . END
Philippine Consulate General in Chongqing conducts empowerment and up-skilling workshops for its Filipino Community
Chongqing, 16 November 2024. The Philippine Consulate General in Chongqing held a Filipino community gathering and provided empowerment and up-skilling workshops in celebration of the Philippine Book Development Month, under Proclamation No. 1436, s. 2007, and the 18-day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW).
Philippine Consulate General in Chongqing celebrates Philippine National Children’s Month and Filipino Values Month
Chongqing, 16 November 2024. The Philippine Consulate General organized a film screening event for the children of the Filipino community in Chongqing as it joined the nation in celebrating Philippine National Children’s Month and Filipino Values Month.
The Consulate showed Samot-Saring Hiraya: Imagination Through Filipino Stories, an online oral storytelling video on unique and positive Filipino values and games. The video was provided by the Department’s Office of Cultural Diplomacy. END
Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of Long Xing Visits the PH Consulate General
Mr. Shen Chuanhua, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of Long Xing, Liang Jiang New District in Chongqing, visited the Philippine Consulate General on 21 November 2024 to discuss ways to increase economic cooperation between the Philippines and Chongqing.
Consul General Ivan Frank Olea took the opportunity to inform Chairman Shen of the initiatives of the Consulate General to enhance people-to-people relations. END
