COMELEC-OFOV’s Online Frontline Services for Overseas Voters

 

            The Philippine Consulate General in Chongqing is pleased to inform the Filipino communities in its jurisdiction of the online frontline services of the COMELEC-Office for Overseas Voting (OFOV). Pursuant to Section 1 of COMELEC Resolution No. 10709, overseas Filipinos who already have existing voters’ registration records with complete biometric data in COMELEC’s database, may avail themselves of this online services and applications for:

  1. Certification as an overseas voter (for those with active voter registration in the Philippines);
  2. Reinstatement of names inadvertently omitted from the National Registry of Overseas Voters (NROV);
  3. Correction of entries in the Overseas Voter’s Registration Record (OVRR), specifically on the following data fields:

                        1)    Voter’s surname or family name by reason of marriage, death of spouse, or final court judgment;

                        2)    Voter’s civil status by reason of marriage death of spouse or final court judgment; and

                        3)    Voter’s name, to correct a misspelled name or erroneous entry.

       d. Request to withdraw the application for registration;

       e. Request to cancel OVRR.

       f. Reactivation of OVRRs that were deactivated due to causes listed in Section 14 of the Overseas Voting Act of 2013.

       g. Updating of mailing or postal addresses and other contact information of registered overseas voters;

       h. Transfer of registration records between different Posts or countries;

        i. Transfers of registration records from overseas/Post to a Philippine city/municipality, but only insofar as the cancellation of the overseas voters’ names from the Certified               List of Overseas Voters (CLOV) and the removal of their overseas voter’s registration from the Book of Voters are concerned.

        j. Applications for issuance of certified true copy of Overseas Voter’s Registration Record, and other OFOV-related activities.

Applicants who wish to do any of the above transactions or applications may file their request through any of the following means:

            The Philippine Consulate General in Chongqing strongly encourages Filipinos in its jurisdiction who have valid and active voter registrations in the Philippines to avail themselves of Certification as an overseas voter, and have their registration transferred to this Consulate through any of the three means mentioned above.

          As of now, however, for other applications, such as Registration of those without any existing voter record, the applicants are requested to appear personally at the Consulate for the capturing of biometric data (photo, fingerprint, and signature).            The deadline for registration as an overseas voter is on 30 September 2021.
