PH Consulate General in Chongqing showcases Philippine banana, pineapple, and durian in an agriculture fair

Chongqing, 22-25 September 2023 – The Philippine Consulate General, in collaboration with the Office of the Agricultural Counselor in Beijing, featured fresh Philippine fruits at the 21st Western China (Chongqing) International Fair for Agricultural Products, held from 22 to 25 September 2023 at the Chongqing International Convention and Exhibition Center, Nanping, Nan’An District, Chongqing.

Through the Office of the Agricultural Counselor in Beijing, the Philippine booth showcased and offered for sampling Philippine branded agricultural produce including SW pineapples, Dole bananas and Eng Seng durians during the four-day agriculture fair.

With the theme “Rural Revitalization Empowered by Sci-Tech Innovation,” the agriculture fair occupied a total of 38,000 square meters for its exhibition area, and consisted of nine (9) sections, including one for ASEAN agricultural products.

In line with its economic diplomacy objectives, the Philippine Consulate General in Chongqing valued the local platform in further bolstering Philippine product awareness and promotion in southwest China. “The Western China (Chongqing) International Fair for Agricultural Products presents a valuable opportunity to increase commercial sales of Philippine agricultural products, such as fruits and coffee, to promote the Philippines as a viable destination for investments in agriculture and agri-processing, expand Philippine market presence in Southwest China, and forge more partnerships with importers and distributors of Philippine fruits,” Consul General Mayo reported.  END
