Consulate General promotes PH destinations at a tourism expo in Chongqing
Chongqing, 02 July 2023 – The Philippine Consulate General in Chongqing participated in the 8th Western China Tourism Industry Expo held from 30 June to 02 July 2023 at the Yuelai International Convention Center, Chongqing, China, organized by the Chongqing Municipal Culture and Tourism Development.
The Consulate General, in collaboration with the Philippine Department of Tourism-Shanghai, distributed brochures and offered tourism information to guests at the Philippine booth. Of particular interest to families and groups visiting the Philippine booth were beach destinations, such as Boracay and Palawan, as well as the country’s famous diving sites. Information on visa procedures was likewise made available to the public.
With the theme “Integration of Culture and Tourism into a Better Life,” the Expo saw the participation of some 20 local exhibitors consisting of provinces and municipalities, and of 25 countries and regions.
“The 8th Western China Tourism Industry Expo is an excellent platform for the promotion of Philippine tourist destinations in this region of China, taking into account its potential as a huge source of PH-bound tourists wishing to enjoy not only the Philippines’ sunny beaches, but also its rich culture,” remarked Vice Consul Adrian G.
