Philippine Consulate General, Public Security Bureau hold joint forum for Filipino workers in Southwest China

Chongqing, 18 September 2022 – The Philippine Consulate General hosted today a special forum on Chinese visa and immigration policies in partnership with the Chongqing Municipal Public Security Bureau (PSB).

Held in-person and online in Nan’an District, Chongqing for the benefit of Filipino workers in southwest China, the forum shone a light on Chinese policies pertaining to entry visas, work permits and residence permits. Representing the PSB, First Level Inspector Zhong Qian also addressed concerns raised by the audience comprising Filipino teachers and engineers as well as their dependents.

Back-to-back with the forum, the Consulate held its regular fellowship with the Filipino community where Consul General Flerida Ann Camille P. Mayo delivered her quarterly Ulat sa Bayan, a presentation of official activities undertaken by said Post as well as updates on its community services and consular reminders. The quarterly fellowship provided another opportunity for the Consulate to gather feedback and suggestions from Filipinos in its jurisdiction with a view to enhancing its responsiveness to community concerns.
