PH Consulate General, Chongqing-Based Charter Service Prepare for Potential Surge in Outbound Travel
Chongqing, 17 August 2022 – Philippine Consul General Flerida Ann Camille P. Mayo met today with Mr. Cui Laili, General Manager of Chongqing Best Service International Travel Service Co., Ltd. (CBSITS) to discuss the latter’s preparations for the resumption of outbound travel to the Philippines once COVID-related restrictions have been eased on the Chinese side. Mr. Cui was accompanied by Ms. Wang Lin, Deputy Chief of the company, and Mr. Luo Chunyu of Air-Asia Chongqing.
Currently, CBSITS charters Air Asia flights from Manila to Guangzhou once a week. Headquartered in Chongqing, CBSITS maintains offices in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Ningbo, and Hangzhou. Mr. Cui expressed interest in launching charter flights to Kalibo and Cebu, including from Chongqing.
For her part, Consul General Mayo provided updates on visa processing and travel requirements for Philippine-bound tourists, as well as exchanged ideas with Mr. Cui on possible joint tourism promotion activities in Chongqing to renew interest in Philippine destinations.
