PH Consul General Discusses Filipino Community Interests with Chongqing’s Public Security Bureau

12 August 2022, Chongqing – Philippine Consulate General Flerida Ann Camille P. Mayo met today with Director General Zhang Pan of the Chongqing Municipal Public Security Bureau-Exit and Entry Administration Bureau (PSB-EEAB), which oversees the implementation of immigration and other relevant laws affecting the status of foreigners in Chongqing, including work visas and permits.

Consul General Mayo was given a tour of the PSB-EEAB’s modern facilities which included ICT-enabled information boards, self-service photo booth, automated application form generator and online videoconference facility used for virtual interviews and remote notarization services.

During the courtesy visit, Consul General Mayo acknowledged the PSB-EEAB’s close coordination with the Philippine Consulate in matters affecting the status and stay of Filipino nationals in Chongqing. She took the opportunity to discuss concerns of the Filipino community and suggested a joint program to address frequently asked questions. Director General Zhang welcomed the ideas shared by the Consul General and looked forward to working with the Philippine Consulate in this regard. Both sides reaffirmed their readiness to coordinate closely on mutual concerns. END
