Philippine Consulate General in Chongqing Visits Geely Guiyang, Discusses PH Business

24 September 2021 – Consul General Flerida Ann Camille P. Mayo, together with Vice Consul Adrian G. Miras and Mr. Timothy Wong, Post’s interpreter, visited today the Geely Guiyang Manufacturing Plant for a plant inspection and a hybrid meeting with Mr. Fang Peng, Geely’s Sales Manager for the Philippines. Representatives of Geely gave the consular officials a guided walkthrough of the final stages of vehicle assembly and quality control. At the virtual meeting that followed the inspection, Consul General Mayo highlighted the Philippines’ demographics, growing demand for affordable vehicles, access to the ASEAN market and investment incentives. Mr. Fang, for his part, provided updates on Geely’s performance in the Philippines, highlighting the increase in its sales by 342% in the first half of this year, and rise to rank 6 in terms of car sales in the Philippine market in July 2021.
