15 November 2019, Chongqing. The Philippie Consul General in Chongqing, Mr. Crescente R. Relacion inducted the members and officers of the Chongqing Filipino Teachers (CQFT) at the Consulate on 12 November 2019.
CQFT, is recently and the first established Filipino Community organization based in Chongqing. Since the Consulate’s establishment in December 2008, the Filipino community in Chongqing has no formal organization.
CQFT as its name stands, is an organization of Filipino teachers based in Chongqing which aims to foster camaraderie among Filipino educators and empower each educator with innovative teaching methods and modern classroom technology.
CQFT Officers for 2019-2020 are the following: Mr. Ferdinand M. Miguel (President), Ms. Sarah M. Fernando (Vice-President, Internal/Auditor), Mr. Christopher B. Manansala (Vice-President, External), Ms. Michelle B. Eronico (Secretary), Ms. Kathrina C. Andres (Treasurer), Mr. Ervin Clark T. Abarquez (PRO).
Consul General Relacion, as the Guest of Honor, administered the oath taking in a simple ceremony attended by CQFT officers and members and some of the Consulate’s personnel.
He expressed his congratulations to the new officers and encouraged them to pursue their commitments to its members. He added that they may experience “labor or birth pains” on their first few years of operation but must continue to pursue their purpose. END
