Philippine Consulate General Hosts Appreciation Dinner for Chongqing Government Officials and Consuls General

16 December 2024, Chongqing, China  - Consul General Ivan Frank Olea hosted an appreciation dinner for Deputy Director General Li Mingquan of the Chongqing Municipal Government’s Foreign Affairs Office, and other government officials from Yuzhong District, Shapingba District, Chongqing International Culture Exchange Center, and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade. The Consuls General of the British Consulate, Canada, and Myanmar also attended the dinner. 

Consul General Olea thanked the Foreign Affairs Office and other government agencies of the Chongqing Municipal Government for the assistance extended to the Consulate this year in promoting and strengthening Philippines-Chongqing relations, particularly since it marks the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Consulate General in Chongqing. He expressed hope for continued cooperation with the Chongqing Municipal Government next year which marks an important milestone of the 50th anniversary of Philippines-China relations. 

The menu for the dinner consisted of a combination of Filipino and Chinese cuisine.  The Filipino dishes served were sinigang na hipon, beef kaldereta, tokwa’t baboy, lumpiang gulay, lechon de leche, and leche flan.  END
