Ph Consulate General in talks with Mapúa University on Education Cooperation with Chinese Universities in Southwest China

Chongqing, 15 November 2024 – The Philippine Consulate General in Chongqing, represented by Consul General Ivan Frank Olea, conducts a virtual meeting with officials  from Mapúa University to discuss opportunities for education cooperation in Chongqing and Southwestern China. 

In the virtual call from Mapúa were Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Lilibeth Sabino, Assistant Vice President of International Linkages Dr. Delia B. Senoro, Dean of the School of Information Technology Dr. Kelly D. Balan, Dean of the Civil, Environmental, and Geological Engineering Department Dr. Gilford B. Estores, Dean of the School of Graduate Studies Alvin R. Caparanga, Program Chair of Chemical Engineering Dr. Kristopher Ray S. Pamintuan, and Board Secretary of Foundation of Outstanding Mapúan Inc. Engr. Carlito Alpay.

Consul General Olea explored the possibility of bridging a higher education institution from the Philippines to universities in Southwest China. He noted Chongqing’s engineering expertise resonates with Mapúa University’s excellence in said field.

The Consulate and the Deans from Mapúa discussed ways forward with the opportunities for cooperation. END
