PH Consul General Ivan Frank Olea makes an Introductory Visit to Chongqing University.

Chongqing, 06 November 2024. Philippine Consul General Ivan Frank M. Olea met President Shuxin Wang (right), an academician of the renowned Chinese Academy of Engineering of the Chongqing University. Chongqing University was founded in 1929, and currently has fifty thousand (50,000) students across its five (5) campuses. Chongqing University’s main disciplines include energy, manufacturing, and civil engineering.  It is considered the premier university in Chongqing.

Consul General Olea promoted education cooperation to improve people-to-people exchanges, particularly in the fields of engineering and architectural design, given its emergence in business process and services outsourcing, a USD 35 billion industry in the Philippines.

President Wang expressed optimism to the ideas, noting that Chongqing University provides programs in engineering and architecture, infrastructure, and new energy. He also noted that Chongqing University alumni have worked on key historical landmarks, such as the Hongya Cave, and manufacturing facilities that drive Chongqing as the industrial base of China.
