PH Consulate General in Chongqing attends 2nd RCEP International Engineering Design & Consulting Roundtable Summit

Chongqing, 19 October 2024 – The Philippine Consulate General in Chongqing, represented by Consul General Ivan Frank M. Olea (left photo), attends the 2nd RCEP International Engineering Design & Consulting Roundtable Summit. The event was hosted by Yantron Technology (Chongqing) Co. Ltd. and directed by the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce.

Consul General Olea delivered a speech on realizing the potential of RCEP and promoting the Philippines’ leadership in IT-enabled services which has expanded  to include  high value-added activities such as architecture and engineering, including engineering service outsourcing. Architecture, engineering, and infrastructure development may provide avenues for win-win cooperation between the Philippines and China. He also encouraged Chinese companies that have operations overseas to consider partnering with Philippine engineering and architectural firms for projects in third countries. END
