Seven Filipino-Chinese students participated in the Chongqing Spring Camp 2013 for Overseas Chinese Youth which was held in Chongqing, China from 28 March to 8 April 2013. The event was organized by the the Chinese Language and Culture Education Foundation of China and hosted by the Chongqing Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and Chongqing Normal University.
The Philippine Consulate General in Chongqing coordinated with the Association of Chinese-Filipino Schools in the Philippines for the Philippine participation. The students were accompanied by a teacher, Ms. Yu Siu Yan Severina, who served as Group Leader.
During the Spring Camp, the students had the opportunity to interact with their counterparts from Thailand and Chongqing while taking Chinese language lessons and learning martial arts, calligraphy, paper cutting, Chinese dances and culture. They also visited cultural and tourist attractions in Chongqing and engaged in other educational activities.
