Learning Sessions on Consular Services and Launching of PCW’s Campaign to End VAW cum Christmas Gathering with the members of FilCom in Chongqing

 2019 Learning Sessions on Consular Services and VAW CQ

25 November 2019, Chongqing. The Philippine Consulate General in Chongqing held a learning session on consular services and launched the information campaign of the Philippine Government to end violence against women (VAW) cum Christmas gathering on 22 November 2019 at Crowne Plaza Hotel in Chongqing.

The gathering was attended by more than 80 Filipinos including Consulate staff and their dependents.

Before the Christmas gathering, Vice Consul Adrian Miras gave some reminders on the Consulate’s notices and advisories on consular services. He also informed the Filipino Community that the Philippine Commission on Women has an 18-Day campaign to end violence against women (VAW), which will commence on 25 November until 12 December 2019. The brochures on VAW and Anti-Trafficking in Persons, including the Reminders to Filipinos in China, were distributed to the Filipinos present in the event. He also informed the members of Filcom in attendance of the resumption of overseas registration for 09 May 2022 Presidential elections, which will commence on 16 December 2019 until 30 September 2021.

Consul General Crescente R. Relacion expressed his gratitude for the attendance of the members of the Filipino community in the Consulate’s organized event and thanked them for their support to the Consulate’s activities. I also reminded them to love everyone and everything they do, enjoy life, and forget about their problems and anxiety. I added that everything in this world is meaningless without Jesus in our heart. He is everything we needed the most.

The program was enlivened by the group presentation of the FilCom Chongqing choir, a series of song from the FilCom band of Mr. Paulo Ofalsa, Ms. Yvette Siason and Mr. Jason Zapanta. There were also games, raffle draw and community singing of the members of the Filipino Community. A delightful Filipino food dinner was shared among Filipinos. END
